Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgery

Frank Ebert, M.D. is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon performing total hip and knee replacements, including revision surgery. He has dedicated more than 40 years to helping people overcome hip and knee arthritis and get back to doing what they love.

Dr. Ebert began his path in medicine as a physical therapist after earning his degree from Temple University in Philadelphia. Working closely with orthopedic patients inspired him to pursue medical school, also at Temple University, followed by orthopedic surgical training at Madigan Army Medical Center near Seattle, Washington. There, he discovered his passion for joint replacement surgery, which he later refined during a fellowship at the prestigious Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore.

Teaching has always been a cornerstone of Dr. Ebert’s work. He was involved with the education education and training of over 150 orthopedic surgical residents and fellows which led him to cofound the International Arthroplasty Association, which offered hands-on training and lectures to Latin American surgeons throughout the 1990s and 2000s, expanding access to modern orthopedic techniques worldwide.

Florida has long held a special place in Dr. Ebert’s life. He and his wife first established a home in Jupiter in 1996. They purchased a home here in 2019 and remained snowbirds until 2025. Today, Dr. Ebert is excited to continue his career in Sarasota—caring for patients, collaborating with the local medical community, and contributing to the region he and his wife proudly call home.

Throughout his career, Dr. Ebert has performed thousands of successful hip and knee replacements, helping patients regain independence and mobility, which he feels is his greatest achievement. His career has been defined by genuine compassion, surgical excellence, and a deep respect for the trust his patients place in him. Having faced medical challenges himself, he brings an even greater sense of empathy and gratitude to every patient experience.

Outside the operating room, Dr. Ebert has always valued staying active, whether it was competing in sports during college or maintaining a healthy lifestyle today. He and his wife love spending time at our beautiful beaches, and when he’s not working or enjoying the coast, you’ll likely find him on the golf course enjoying time with friends.
